Adding fire protection with our Insulated Fire Barrier Curtain
Paul Wong of Fireglobe Ltd, Suffolk was asked to fire protect a composite wall that has polyurethane sandwiched between two steel sheets. The wall was part of the plant/boiler room in a large Waitrose supermarket store.
The Insulated Fire Barrier curtain (IFB) was suggested as, thanks to the quick and simple installation process, it could be applied immediately.
The IFB was adhered to the wall with Envirograf intumescent adhesive – PRODUCT 46 (IA)
Fitted to the outside of the boiler room due to the large number of pipes on the inside, the curtain was wrapped around the services and the cable tray was fitted with intumescent pads that would seal the penetration in the event of a fire.
Supplied in rolls that are either one or two metres wide, our IFB can be supplied with 100 minutes or two hour fire protection and with the option of additional sound insulation.
