Description
Intumescent Fire Sleeve
Our Intumescent sleeve for Hollow Ceilings is a complete Intumescent fire sleeve unit giving fire and smoke protection plus insulation. Protect electrical, plumbing and ventilation duct services passing through plasterboard or lath & plaster ceilings.
Designed for ceilings
Designed specifically for plasterboard or lath & plaster ceilings, these new products have a metal encasement under the reinforced foiled cloth. This also serves as a hinge, enabling the sleeve to open up for fitting around existing services. Once, fitted, you can peel off the adhesive tag and seal the two halves together.
Fixing tabs are used to secure the sleeve with screws or toggle bolts as appropriate.
Works exactly the same as our IWS Intumescent fire sleeves used through hollow walls but has a metal encasement plus fixing lugs to fix to the ceiling with screws or toggle bolts. The metal case means that the intumescent is forced to expand inwards only, crushing plastic pipe, sealing around cables. Also cools metal pipe to stop radiant heat.
The sleeves can be wrapped around the existing relevant services and secured with a self-adhesive tab.
Made in 2 lengths:
- 100mm for 30 minute protection on single skin plasterboard ceilings.
- 150mm for 60 minute protection on double skin ceilings.
