Description

TaktaKote – Fire & Moisture Protection for Timber Structures

TaktaKote is a patented pending intumescent coating designed to protect timber structures and felt roofs from fire, heat and moisture. As temperatures rise, unprotected wooden buildings can become increasingly hot, particularly in areas exposed to direct sunlight. This can increase the risk of fire and damage to buildings, equipment and stored materials.

When exposed to heat or flame, TaktaKote expands and swells to form a protective barrier. This helps compartmentalise fire and restrict the spread of fire, smoke and toxic gases, while helping to protect the timber beneath.

TaktaKote is particularly suited to wooden structures such as farm buildings, agricultural storage, livestock buildings, garages, sheds and other timber buildings. It can help protect structures containing valuable equipment, stored materials or other contents that may be vulnerable to excessive heat.

As well as providing fire and heat protection, TaktaKote also helps protect timber from moisture and deterioration. It acts as a wood preservative, deters woodlice and is suitable for both internal and external applications.

TaktaKote dries rapidly and is easy to apply using a roller, or a brush for smaller areas. Apply two coats at a coverage rate of 8m² per litre per coat.

Available in dark grey or green, TaktaKote can also be overcoated with other suitable coatings without affecting its performance. The product has no known adverse effect on animals when used as directed.
