Installation of our FB70 Fire Barrier Curtain for the TV Studio at the University of East Anglia
The University of East Anglia required fireproof lining for their TV Studio, housing high-spec equipment and furnishings. A timely addition to our case studies page in light of our recent published tips for fire safety in schools!
Working in collaboration with DoorsPlus, a recognised installer of passive fire protection products, we were able to aid the client by providing FB70 curtains which offer 70 minutes of fire integrity. We used an intumescent adhesive to adhere the sections of the curtain together to form a fire barrier curtain. The perimeters of the fixings also had battens attached every 300mm.
The client requested the fire curtains in black, typically supplied only in grey. We agreed that we would coat our curtains in black intumescent paint, thus providing additional fire protection.
Several hundred linear metres of this product were installed by DoorsPlus and their installers said,
