Fighting arson with help from Envirograf®

Lincolnshire_Council_fire_protection

Lincolnshire Council uses HW Coating System to protect wooden structures from arsonists.

Lincolnshire Council has had a recurring problem solved by Envirograf® at the shelter in the grounds of The Lawns Hospital. Arsonists have tried unsuccessfully to burn down the shelter on a number of occasions. The structure was protected from fire using Envirograf® Product 42 (HW Intumescent coatings). The only evidence of arsonists’ work was the smoke charring of the inner roof, something that is easily cleaned. “Wooden structures that are used by the public appear to be frequent targets for arsonists. In the past, the council could do very little to ensure that these properties were protected. Using the Envirograf® HW fire protection system has at last given us the opportunity to ensure that this listed building will remain on the protected list for generations to come” says Mike Jones, Supervisor, Lincolnshire Council. Burstalls Solicitors of Hull was another example of how the Envirograf® HW system was used on a listed building. The building was built upon the site of Henry VIII’s old palace and the existing doors had to be upgraded to keep both the quality and tradition in top order. Intumescent strips, new glass, and beads were also supplied to blend in with the existing door construction.
