Installation of RSM cavity barriers offers excellent passive fire protection for rainscreen cladding

Crown Place is a 23-storey building in Portsmouth constructed for student accommodation.

The project offers 576 beds to students attending the University of Portsmouth, as well as an in-house gym, social spaces and study areas.

The site is located approximately 500m from the main University campus and directly opposite Portsmouth & Southsea train station. To prevent spread of fire Envirograf® RSM cavity barrier was specified and installed horizontally and vertically.

Cover made from a strong fire rated material which is completely water resistant, housing our impregnated intumescent sponge. Under fire, the intumescent expands to contain and extinguish fires before they rapidly spread, causing irreparable fire damage to buildings.

Our RSM cavity barriers feature prepared fixing brackets and self-adhesive backing, therefore easy to install.
