Description

Fireproof Sponge and Profile Sponge

This fireproof sponge and profile sponge is incombustible and emits no toxic fumes. The material will not burn if exposed to fire. It slowly degrades in a fire, thus providing an extremely effective fire-stopping barrier.

Used also in conjunction and faced with Product 63 Cement Filler to provide an effective fire-stopping seal.

Supplied and available in standard strips and sheets, other sizes are available made to order.

A very versatile material, the fireproof sponge is useful as:

  • a fire break under roofing sheets
  • between walls and floors
  • as packing around small openings, such as spaces around windows and door frames in timber buildings where it is useful as a penetration seal.

Additionally, this product is available in pieces or metre lengths and supplied cut to match steel cladding profiles where necessary. Take a look at our references tab for the full availability of sizes available.

This product has been fire-resistance test employing the general procedures and criteria of BS476 part 22 (1987) achieving an integrity of 240 minutes. EN1366-3:2009 achieving 88 minutes.
